Kristian Vedel's Classic Wooden Toys

Out of the all of the toys we play with as a child, how do we determine our favorite one? It’s obvious that kids get tired of the same old thing after awhile and that is why introducing some classic modern toys into their daily lives may just help.

If you haven’t seen the legendary Kristian Vedel wooden birds, you’re in for a treat. In the late 50s, Danish designer, Vedel, created a family of birds crafted out of the highest quality of natural and smoked oak. Although the designer had sadly passed about 5 ½ years ago, his creation has remained in the minds of many. ‘Bird’ is manufactured by hand in Denmark and remains the favorite toy among children across the world. As described on ModernChild.net, the three body sizes of the birds, representing children, parents, and grandparents, can be interchangeable while the birds’ heads can be turned in all different directions to reflect their mood and personality. ‘Bird’ is sure to keep your little ones entertained and if, and only if, they truly get tired of playing with Vedel’s adorable design, you can perch them in the window of a nursery or playroom.
