Holiday Baby Shopping on Cyber Monday

This year I decided to not partake in Black Friday festivities and I don’t regret it one bit. I’m an online gal and I just don’t understand why I should be driving with gritted teeth and white-knuckled hands through death trap parking lots just to grab a few sale items when I can look forward to Cyber Monday. Red ticket items are just as enticing on your computer screen as they are in person! Plus, you can stay in your pajamas with your morning coffee made just the way you like it while browsing through as many stores as your internet browser will allow.
Today is a great excuse to order all of those goodies you want to surprise your children with this holiday season. A few top items I’ve noticed on some shopping lists are:

- Baby Cribs: The green trend continues to run through the end of 2008 and into 2009. Eco-friendly cribs are the way to go when furnishing your baby’s nursery this year. Not only do they offer safety and comfort to your child but you can be rest assured that you’re playing a part in the safety of the environment.

- Nursery Décor: Modern canvas wall decals and prints are a great way to enliven your children’s playroom or nursery. Also, try looking into modern wallpaper decals that come in the shape of safari animals, flowers, and more. Interactive wall decals are a great alternative to the hassle of sponge painting a room.

- Baby Mobiles: Hang a beautiful mobile over your baby’s crib to help them fall asleep for afternoon naps and nighttime sleep. A modern mobile will add design to any modern nursery while playing soft music your children can listen to as they drift off to dreamland.

Just curious, what makes an Eco-friendly crib, eco-friendly?

Great question! An eco-friendly crib is made from sustainable materials which are also known as renewable resources. Cribs that are designed to be green are typically made from recycled wood that has been salvaged and properly prepared to be used in another furniture construction. This encourages forest conservation, limiting the demand for cutting down new trees for future products.

A great example of a company that uses green design in their baby cribs is Oeuf (pictured in post). Not only are their products eco-friendly but they are dedicated to manufacturing quality furniture in the greenest way possible by having licensed collection centers that recycle all materials and waste used in the manufacturing process in order to minimize their impact on the environment.
