Cool New Coco Baby Rocker

This is one of our favorite new baby rockers, by a smart little modern furniture company called Bloom. Bloom was started by a group of dads that wanted to innovate a wide range of baby products with fresh contemporary designs. The founders focused on designs that would make the transition from couple-dom to parenthood a smooth and stylish one. The Bloom baby rocker is a perfect example of how the Bloom designers are able to bring style to a traditionally mundane and unattractive baby product.

The rocker is mad of patented Stylewood material, and features a smooth self-rocking motion, soft seat, and five-point safety harness, fully adjustable for a growing baby. We love its curved, single-piece frame and the dark cappuccino finish. It's easy to clean and the micro-suede seat cushion is offered in a bunch of gorgeous bright colors for a modern home. Check it out at AllModernBaby.com.

Modern High Chairs for 2008

If you're in the market for a modern high chair, you've probably noticed a great variety of features and styles. With so many options to choose from, and no one chair offering them all, how do you pick the best high chair for your baby? We decided to help you out with a review of our top high chair picks. Hopefully our recommendations and product testing will help you make the right decision for your modern family.

Boon Flair High Chair
Boon Flair High ChairStyle: This chair was our favorite for its simple, modern aesthetic.

Features: It is totally washable and easy to clean, and the base of the chair hides casters that allow you to roll the high chair around the kitchen with you while you cook. The Flair high chair is JPMA certified.

Overall: This high chair is uber-cool. The only down-sides are the small size of the tray (which can also be a plus - easy to load in the dishwasher), which doesn't fit both a stroller toy and a baby bowl. It would be nice to have a head cushion because the back of the chair is hard.

Tripp Trapp by Stokke
Style: There are a lot of great color options and cushion fabrics available for the Tripp Trapp chair. We love the Tripp Trapp cushions in Art Stripes or Tales prints.

Features: The Tripp Trapp is designed to grow with your child. Its design is so versatile, it can even be used by adults. Adding the cushion and the baby rail to the chair, you have a safe, comfortable seat for baby that fits right in with modern decor, and the chair can be pulled right up to the table so your little one can dine with the rest of the family! Tripp Trapp is JPMA certified.

Overall: Stokke's designs are perennial favorites, and the Tripp Trapp is no exception! This chair is great for any age.

Starck High Chair by Maclaren
Starck High ChairStyle: Designed by modern designer Philippe Starck, the Starck high chair from Maclaren oozes modern chic.

Features: This high chair is truly designed for travel! It features a unique 3d folding mechanism, removable legs, and includes a convenient travel bag.

Overall: We love this chair, but we're sad it's not big enough for older babies. We recommend this for glamourous on-the-go babies under 1 year.

m'Home by Inglesina High Chair

m'Home by InglesinaStyle: Available in four fabulous color options, this restaurant-style high chair is practical and comfortable -- perfectly styled for modern living.

Features: This chair is designed to pull right up to the dining table with the family. The shell cushion on the seat is easy to remove and wash.

Overall: This is a brand new chair, coming out mid-March of '08. With a design this cool and unique, we know it's going to be a celeb favorite!

Stokke Xplory Strollers

Have you ever wondered what makes some strollers so much more expensive than others? In the case of the Stokke Xplory, the $900 price tag is well worth the extra dough. What do you get with a luxury stroller investment? Versatility, maneuverability and style.

We found a wonderful video from Stokke on YouTube that illustrates the many features of the Xplory stroller, including how it enables freedom of movement and provides ergonomic positioning for the parent.

When shopping for a stroller, look for features that will make your life easier and more comfortable for your baby. While a luxury stroller can be a big up-front investment, the sleek style, additional maneuverability and customization features are well-worth the extra money.

New from Dwell Studio: Toys and Art for Your Modern Nursery

Modern Nursery Wall Art
Due to the great response to our earlier post about the new 2008 Dwell baby bedding, we thought it worth mentioning that Dwell Studio has also released their new fabrics in popular nursery accessory and decor pieces, like the soft blocks and animals, in addition to a brand new line of nursery wall art.

Dwell Studio ToysThe new nursery wall art is offered in the same fabulous new prints as the new Dwell studio bedding and diaper bag line. Choose just one of the square prints for a bright splash of color in your nursery, or tile a number of the prints for unique combination to match your nursery decor. These prints, with gallery-wrapped frames, are so stylish, you'll want to put them in your own bedroom. Why not?

For a bit of fun and whimsy, you can also add new options from the Dwell Studio accessories collection, including soft blocks, animal-shaped pillows and hand puppets. The shapes are charming and the prints match perfectly with any of the Dwell baby bedding sets. The options are endless!
